So new cs2d cmd settile command was released. That instantly made me motivated to update one of my scripts. But this time it's an application. So I had to remove my last file and upload a new one in this section.

What does it do? Simply makes everyone download a blank map while you got the full map on your server.

The best thing about this tool is that it is 100% lag free!

The application was written in BlitzBasic at some point. With version 2.0 I've fully rewritten it in C++. So yea, now it's way more faster. Also with the version of 2.0 I've changed a little bit of the menus and now it's more pleasurable to read. Source code is also included.

@user Avo: I think the downloading is done in "Loading server data..." and here it should be optimized (compressed). If it's done this way then the player won't lag, but experience longer joining times

That's not true.
Read on cs2d cmd settile please.

Only time when it will lag, is when server loads all the tiles (which is happening right at the start of the server). It's physically impossible for someone to join in period of 2-4 freeze seconds. (Unless you're using some kind of program that does it for you, but I doubt that someone will ever waste their time on it.)

And before you will ask: yes, I tested this on a 300x300 map. No lag.

Well, app is lag-free, but I guess that player will lag much on join, when map's tiles change.

Imagine 200x200 map (40000 tiles) or even bigger.

Not sure how it can be latency free. Makes no sense to me. But good job none the less. The technical aspect on this one reaches over 9000.

The fact that they're not hosting server in Windows doesn't prove the fact that Lua script is better.

If you did not understand: This application will generate a lua script and an empty map.

I will update it so that it will save tile blending.

Well, after downloading and testing, it seems that tile blending is erased. I'm gonna uploading my LUA version which doesn't delete tile blending data. But i still like it because you just create it so fast

You're a ninja. I want to create something like this with 100% LUA. Bdw does it work with tile modifier? be careful that settile won't work on blended tile. And also you need to turn on cs2d cmd mp_luamap to 1
